Rock the Rosés
For your consideration we are featuring a couple of lovely rosés that will help get
you through the sweltering summer. First up we have ($15.95) Commanderie de la
Bargemone. A dry rosé from Provence with light alcohol (12.5%) and alluring flavors of
strawberry and currant, this gem is made with sustainably grown grapes. This is a blend
of Garnacha, Viura, and Tempranillo. The finish is crisp and bone-dry. Enjoy it pool-side
or take it to the table! Next, we have a more robust rosé, ($13.95) Bodega Muga from
Rioja. A quick characterization places it as a California style rosé in that it is a more
assertive wine than its French counterpart. Here we’re looking at a bold wine with bigger
flavors than most and very interesting from the first sip to the last drop. Both wines are
fresh off the boat (read 2010 vintage) and ready for a spot in your refrigerator.
